Book Reviews/Policy

I’m a middle school reading teacher. So, it isn’t surprising that I love reading.

I’m also an Indie author who knows how expensive the self-publishing process can be. I also understand how anxious newly published Indie authors can be when it comes to seeing recognition for their work.

Reviews are often hard to come by if no one knows that your book even exists.

Book reviews — and lots of them — are an especially important factor in expanding your readership fan base.

So, without further ado . . .

If you’re a newly published author — within the last year — or you have only a minimum amount of reviews (less than 20) I’m open to reading your book and writing an honest review for you. FOR FREE! I may or may not change this, but at this time I feel the need to help my fellow Indie authors. 🙂

How it works:

  1. I accept any book format: e-book, paperback, PDF. I also except ARCs. 🙂
  2. Whether or not I accept your request, I will contact you within 48 hours on whether or not I will read and review your book.
  3. Depending on the length of your book, will depend on how long I take to finish reading it.
  4. My favorite genres are: Science fiction, fantasy (most kinds), romance (some kinds), middle-grade, children’s books, horror, thrillers, literary memoirs, etc. You get the idea. 🙂

Rating Scale

My review guide is a letter grade and point system. Basically, on my blog, I will use the letter grade. On review hotspots like Goodreads, Amazon, etc., I will use the corresponding star system.

This is what I grade on:

*****A(+/-) = The book is amazing and I couldn’t put it down!

****B(+/-) = I enjoyed the book, and it was a good solid read.

***C(+/-) = I liked it, but there were some issues with it.

**D(+/-) = I didn’t like it because of a LOT of issues I found with it.

*F(+/-) = I really, really disliked the book.

DNF = I didn’t finish it because I couldn’t “keep calm and carry on.” 😦
