I don’t know when the memes with Keanu Reeves as Ted Theodore Logan, frozen in a look of adorkable shock and awe started circulating, but I started using them as a teacher when my 7th graders were analyzing dystopian fiction almost ten years ago (focused primarily on Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery and excerpts from Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games as showcased in the Read 180 curriculum). As an anticipatory activity, I posted this meme on the door of my classroom, so students could read it before entering:
There are hundreds of these memes all over the Internet. They are incredibly entertaining. Today I’m sharing them with you and hope they produce good feelings and perhaps even entice a chuckle or smile.
After all, laughter is good medicine. 🙂
On another note, if you find yourself struggling during this last week of NaNoWriMo, perhaps you can use this funny memes as inspirational scenes in your fantasy, horror, or science fiction story. 😉
